Welcome, I’m Kristen Ackerman. Getting to therapy takes courage, whether it’s your first time reaching out or you’ve been on this path before.

I work with children, teens, and adults navigating life transitions, identity exploration, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, and relationship challenges. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent-affirming, offering a compassionate space for these communities, as well as for highly sensitive individuals and deep feelers trying to make sense of themselves in a fast-moving world. I also work with those living with the emotional impact of chronic illness and health conditions, where physical and emotional pain often intersect.

Whether you’re untangling long-held patterns, exploring parts of yourself you’re still getting to know, or simply craving space to pause and reconnect, I’m here to walk alongside you. Therapy with me is a collaborative, relational process that honors the complexity of your lived experience. I center safety, curiosity, cultural humility, and mutual trust. My role is not to judge or “fix,” but to co-create a space where you can feel grounded, empowered, and understood.

I draw from a range of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy skills, and regulation tools, strength-based practices, and play therapy techniques. Our work is tailored to your unique needs and guided by what feels most meaningful and relevant to you.
